Reserve ISBA Meeting Space |
The ISBA building is the professional gathering place of the lawyers and judges of Iowa. As such, it is dedicated to serve all members of The Iowa State Bar Association and the public through the administration of justice in the highest traditions of the legal profession. All ISBA members are welcome to enjoy their new home today and for many decades to come.
ISBA members may reserve any of the bar conference rooms. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Building hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The lawyer's lounge provides a warm and welcoming environment for attorneys who may have business in downtown Des Moines and need a place to relax between meetings. Such visitors may help themselves to a fresh cup of coffee, enjoy the daily newspaper, or check phone or e-mail messages. Members wishing to host events after hours will incur additional charges to offset the cost of cleaning, security, heat/air, services of an engineer, etc.
The ISBA building, which was built as a railroad freight depot in 1902, is located at 625 East Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. It is two blocks from the state Capitol and the Iowa Judicial Branch Building.

Other organizations and members of the public can rent building space when it is not being used by state bar members. Click here for pricing, policies, and additional information on renting space. Depending on individual needs, our meeting space can accommodate from one to 100 people. Members wishing to host events after hours will incur additional charges to offset the cost of cleaning, security, heat/air, services of an engineer, etc.
Facility Rental Agreement
The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) is an organization that facilitates professional growth and collegiality among Iowa attorneys. The ISBA’s mission is to support members and their service to clients, community, and the judicial system. The ISBA Building is available as a paid venue by other organizations and members of the public when the space is not being used by ISBA members. The statements and opinions of other organizations or members of the public utilizing the ISBA Building per a facility rental agreement are those of the renter(s) and not necessarily those of The Iowa State Bar Association. ISBA facility rental agreements do not constitute endorsement of another organization or member of the public.
