Our Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program

The ISBA CLE Department is dedicated to meeting your educational needs. We offer nearly 70 live CLE courses a year that cater to new and experienced attorneys across a wide range of practice areas. We are committed to providing quality CLE opportunities at some of the lowest rates in the country to our members. On average, our standard members save up to 30% off registration fees when compared to non-member rates. Individuals within the first five years of practice, who are also members of the ISBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD), save approximately 50% on all other event registrations. Law students and YLD members (years 1-5) also have access to the ISBA On-Demand CLE Catalog free of charge plus access to our Annual Meeting is free in a member's first three years of YLD membership.

ISBA On-Demand CLE Catalog

With the ISBA On-Demand CLE Catalog, earning CLE credit has never been easier and more convenient. With our content available 24/7, users can earn credit at the time and place of their choosing. On-demand CLE activity may be credited toward the requirement of 15 CLE credit hours per year, established by Court Rules 41.3 and 42.2 of the Iowa Supreme Court. In 2020, the six-hour cap on on-demand CLE was lifted permanently, making the catalog an even more valuable resource. Better yet - ISBA Young Lawyers Division members (years 1-5) and law students have access to the entire catalog at no charge. Take advantage of the on-demand CLE catalog today!

CLE Season Pass

Looking for an economical way to take CLE? Sign up for the ISBA CLE Season Pass and save big. Season pass holders gain free admission to ISBA live seminars and webinars as well as unlimited access to the ISBA On-Demand CLE Catalog. The cost of the season pass is $600 -- a fraction of the price you would pay without the pass. The more seminars you attend with your ISBA CLE Season Pass, the more you save. Subscriptions run from July 1 to June 30.

Example of how you can save with the ISBA Season Pass:

The total price of all three seminars for an ISBA Member would be $900. At a cost of $600, the ISBA CLE Season Pass holder would save $300 if registering for the same three events.

CLE Season Pass

The season pass guarantees the pass holder tuition-free admission for one year. Co-sponsored events and non-CLE portions of events are not included. Purchase of the ISBA CLE Season Pass includes CLE outlines, most which are available at no further cost. For an event where a separate charge for hard copy materials exists, such as the Bloethe Tax School, seminar materials will be provided electronically at no additional cost. This pass is for ISBA members only and cannot be used by anyone other than for whom the pass is issued. Under no circumstances will the term on any ISBA CLE Season Pass be extended beyond the 12-month span date. The term of the pass will begin once a member has provided payment for the ISBA CLE Season Pass online. If sending in a printable form, the term of the pass will begin when emailed, faxed or postmarked to the ISBA office in Des Moines.
