Larry James is the founding attorney of Conveyance Law, PLC in Des Moines, Iowa. He has practiced real estate, business, and land use law for more than 20 years, with a focus on commercial real estate transactions, tax credit deal structuring, title work, and opinion counsel.Larry regularly serves as Iowa local counsel for Am Law 100 firms and out-of-state lenders on complex transactions, including Historic Tax Credit (HTC) and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) deals. He issues legal opinion letters on admissibility, enforceability, TIF, and tax credit matters, and represents developers, investors, and lenders in purchase and sale transactions, financing, commercial leasing, platting, easements, and zoning entitlements throughout the Des Moines metro and across Iowa.Before founding Conveyance Law in 2020, Larry built a background in real estate development and small business that informs how he counsels clients he advises not only on legal considerations but on how those issues intersect with each client's business or development objectives.
