Biography:
John is a lifelong resident of Iowa. He lives in Des Moines. John grew up on a farm in Polk County. After graduating from the University of Iowa, John farmed for 12 years. The farming operation had land in Iowa and Minnesota. When younger, John traveled extensively. He has traveled to Ireland, England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Japan, China, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and South Korea. He has traveled to most states in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. He has completed RAGBRAI several times. He is an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He has survived cancer and heart surgery.
