Iowa Legal Aid is hosting an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 4-6 p.m. at its new location on the 25th Floor of the Financial Center (666 Walnut Street, downtown Des Moines).

On Monday, Jan. 16, Iowa Legal Aid and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) are partnering to provide three expungement clinics at different locations throughout Iowa’s capital city.

Applications are being accepted for the U.S. Supreme Court Group Admission Ceremony now through Feb. 15, 2023.

Iowa legal professionals seeking insights on the rules governing attorney advertising and soliciting clients in Iowa are encouraged to attend Timothy Gartin’s (Hastings Gartin & Boettger LLP) CLE presentation on Dec. 30.

In October, ISBA President Henry Hamilton III and Chief Justice Susan Christensen participated in a virtual panel discussion with a focus on “Keeping balance in the judiciary” which is now available to the public.

The 2022 Middle School Mock Trial State Tournament is underway, and there is still opportunity to volunteer to judge competitions today and tomorrow. 

The Iowa State Bar Association is pleased to offer the opportunity for ISBA members to participate in a group swearing-in ceremony that will  take place in Washington, D.C., on May 22, 2023.

There are only a few more weeks of the Toys for Tots drive at The Iowa State Bar Association Building, and the donations are coming in steadily.

The 2022 Middle School Mock Trial State Tournament is next week, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2, and John Wheeler, director of the program, says “We are barely halfway to our need for judges next week. We need at minimum 32 judge slots filled – we currently are sitting at 13, 14 and 18.”
