In 2022, Iowa attorneys reported 107,451 hours of pro bono services, according to the Iowa Supreme Court Office of Professional Regulation (OPR).
Compared to 106,602 pro bono hours reported in 2021, the amount of time Iowa attorneys dedicated to pro bono services increased by 1% year over year between 2021 and 2022.
According to the data provided by OPR Executive Director Tré Critelli, an estimated 75,591 hours of pro bono legal services were donated to persons of limited means (70% of overall pro bono hours), with an additional 31,860 hours being donated to charitable organizations (30%).
In 2022, the value of reported pro bono legal services at $250 per hour was $26,862,750.00.
