The voting period for the 2026-2027 ISBA fiscal year elections has concluded, and the results for The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) and ISBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) officers, as well as an ABA delegate, are now available.
The ISBA is pleased to announce that Alan Olson of Des Moines has been elected as president-elect, and Laura Schmitt of Sioux City has been elected vice president for the 2026-2027 ISBA fiscal year. Henry Hamilton III of West Des Moines has been elected to serve as an ISBA delegate to the ABA. The ISBA YLD has elected Katherine Shimkat of Cedar Rapids as its secretary.
According to the association by-laws, Stephanie Hinz of Cedar Rapids will automatically become ISBA president at the annual meeting in June, and Aaron Jones of Des Moines and Peter Johnson of Sidney will become ISBA YLD president and president-elect, respectively.
The ISBA wishes to congratulate the successful candidates and thank all the members who took the time to participate in the elections.
