One of Stephanie Hinz’s favorite parts of the ISBA Wellness Club is the weekly question. Each week, lawyers, judges, law students, and legal professionals across Iowa respond to a simple prompt — often funny, nostalgic, or unexpectedly heartfelt. “The questions are really about the connective tissue between all of us,” Hinz said. “They remind us of the shared experiences and everyday moments that connect us as people.”
As ISBA president, Hinz hopes to expand that same spirit of connection statewide — not by asking lawyers to add more obligations to already busy schedules, but by meeting lawyers where they already are. “That could mean a formal or informal county bar gathering, a hike near Keosauqua, a bike ride on the Wabash Trace, pickleball in Dubuque, or another local tradition somewhere in Iowa,” she said.
