The first deadline of Feb. 14 is the final day for individual Senator and Representative requests for bill and joint resolution drafts to the Legislative Services Agency. The final date for Senate and House bills and joint resolutions to be reported out of Senate and House committees is March 7. Between March 17-21, the Senate considers only Senate bills, joint resolutions, and unfinished business with the House proceeding likewise. From March 24-April 4, debate is not limited by rule. April 4 is the final date for Senate bills and joint resolutions to be reported out of House committees and House bills and joint resolutions out of Senate committees. Between April 7-11, the Senate considers only House bills, joint resolutions, and unfinished business, and the House considers only Senate bills, joint resolutions, and unfinished business. The beginning of the 14th week starts on April 14 in which only certain bills and resolutions are eligible for consideration. May 2 will mark the 110th calendar day of the session when per diem expenses for legislators ends according to Iowa Code Sec. 2.10(1).
