More than 450 high school students from across the country and teams from overseas competed in the National High School Mock Trial Championship at the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center on May 3-4, in Wilmington, Delaware.
Representing the State of Iowa, Robins Mock Trial from Cedar Rapids finished in 4th place. Robins defeated teams from North Dakota, Delaware, Kentucky, and New Hampshire en route to an undefeated preliminary round of competition.
Among the four undefeated teams, the Iowa team placed fourth due to tiebreakers. Pennsylvania, the eventual National Champion, faced Texas in the final trial. Virginia finished in 3rd place.
In addition, one of the Robins team members, Kendra Wilkens, was named as one of the top ten Best Witnesses in the competition.
The 2025 National Championship will take place in Phoenix, Arizona. Des Moines, Iowa will host the 2026 competition, which will take place May 7 – 9. Keep an eye out for opportunities to get involved in this incredible event!
