The ISBA is hosting a free public event on “Consumer Protection” as part of the “ISBA People’s Law School” series. The event will be held at the bar association headquarters at 625 E. Court in Des Moines on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 5:30 p.m., and is also being live-streamed to public libraries in several Iowa communities.
This month’s speaker is Al Perales, Consumer Protection Investigator for the Iowa Attorney General's Office. He will focus particularly on how consumer fraud affects older Iowans. This year marks his 12th year protecting Iowans from fraud.
The ISBA People’s Law School provides free, educational events where members of the public can find answers to life’s legal questions. Speakers present information on a variety of legal topics and answer general questions. Events typically take place on the third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Videos will be available on the ISBA’s Iowa Find-A-Lawyer website after events.
Please help spread the word about this ISBA public service initiative. If you have ideas for future topics and speakers, please contact: email@example.com.
