Retired Iowa Supreme Court Justice Daryl Hecht, who died April 3, will be memorialized at two services this week. The first is tomorrow (April 11) at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Whiting. The second is Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. in the rotunda of the Iowa Judicial Branch Building in Des Moines.
Born in Sac City, Justice Hecht was appointed to the Iowa Court of Appeals in 1999 after practicing plaintiffs’ litigation law for 22 years at the Crary Huff Law Firm in Sioux City. He was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court in 2006 and retired last December.
