Supreme Court issues order on public hearing for diploma privilege recommendation

The Iowa Supreme Court issued an order Friday, Aug. 1, setting the time and location of the public hearing on the issues of diploma privilege and adoption of the Uniform Bar Examination. The two are among the four recommendations the ISBA’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Legal Education and Licensure presented to the court last winter following unanimous approval by the ISBA Board of Governors at its December quarterly meeting.

The public hearing will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, in the supreme court courtroom on the fourth floor of the judicial branch building. The judicial branch building is located at 1111 East Court Avenue in Des Moines.

The complete order, which includes a list of those scheduled to speak, can be found here. Subsequent to the Aug. 1 order, the court issued a follow-up order on Aug. 5 adding Marianne Culhane, dean of the Creighton University School of Law, as a speaker.
