The Iowa Agricultural Development Division (IADD) will hold a regional board meeting that includes an opportunity for attorneys practicing ag law to learn more about its programs for landowners and beginning farmers on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Wallace Foundation Learning Center in Lewis.

The meeting, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including a buffet lunch at noon, gives ag attorneys and other ag leaders an opportunity to share ideas with the IADD staff and to learn more about IADD programs. Specific information that will be presented includes: 1) low-interest loans for the purchase of land, buildings and equipment; 2) Iowa tax credits for landowners who lease to beginning farmers; and 3) Iowa tax credits for farmers to hire a beginning farmer for custom work.

IADD officials request that potential attendees register by Friday, Aug. 15, so they can adequately plan for lunch. Click here to register and to get driving directions to the Wallace Center. For questions, contact Steve Ferguson at steve.ferguson@iowa.gov, or by calling 515.494.4979.
