Annual Meeting Committee Members

Please fill out the committee form to let me know which events you will be attending and if you can help out with introductions and monitoring in the different tracks.  The Annual Meeting Committee will meet Monday morning at 10:30 in Boardroom 1 and committee morning meetings will be in same room at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Please email me at ccronin@iowabar.org if you have any questions.

Committee Members:


We have four days with several tracks of continuing education.  It seems this meeting just continues to get bigger.  Thank you all so much for the work that you have put in so far this year.


For those of you that are new on the committee we wanted to send out an email to give you all an idea of what is needed as annual meeting approaches.  Since we do not have any other planning meetings, things will be pretty quiet as far as the whole committee is concerned.  As committee members, we always make  an effort to market the annual meeting to attempt to increase attendance.  So if you are new to us, please do what you can to get the word out to people that you know and encourage them to attend the annual meeting.  


During the annual meeting itself, we have a need for people to be around in the various rooms for various jobs.  We generally have at least one person "monitoring" each room (more for really well attended tracks) and then at least one person in a room to introduce speakers.  We have several tracks going on at a time between the lawyers and the judges so we really need people to volunteer to help with this.


Monday morning right before the meeting begins, we will have a final committee meeting.  It begins at 10:30 A.M.  During that meeting, we make assignments for the different tracks for the week.  We have found that it is helpful to get as many of the assignments done on Monday as possible and then if needed we make changes throughout the week.  We know that committee members sometimes have obligations and cannot attend the entire week and sometimes cannot make it to the Monday meeting at 10:30 A.M.  If either of those apply, please try to send a message to Christy so she knows what days and times you will be at the meeting.  In the email if there is a certain track that you would like to be at, please let Christy know that so we can make sure you are assigned to be in that room.  We will make assignments based on the people present and your emails.  We then have committee meetings each morning at around 7:00 to make sure all of the assigned people are present and know their room assignment.  We have breakfast served each morning at this meeting.   After the annual meeting there is a luncheon meeting at 12:00 noon where we discuss how the meeting went and briefly talk about setting up a meeting to start next year's planning.


We are so grateful to have the additional members this year and based on the meeting last year, we know that we will need as many people helping out as possible.  Thank you again for all of your work so far and thank you in advance for the work you will provide during the week of annual meeting.
