Gail Sheridan-Lucht, Iowa Workforce Development Department

This telephone presentation should help attorneys who have clients that have just had an Iowa Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) inspection and don’t know what to do next. The seminar will walk attorneys through the IOSH appeal process from beginning to end: what to expect, what procedures to follow, who to speak with from the IOSH office, what the deadlines are, etc. Sample forms will be provided to enlighten the audience on exactly what IOSH does after a citation is issued.

Gail A. Sheridan-Lucht is an Attorney for the Labor Commissioner for the State of Iowa, Iowa Workforce Development Department, Division of Labor Services, where she enforces the labor laws for the State of Iowa. She has specifically dealt with and litigated issues under the Wage Payment Collection Law (Iowa Code 91A), Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Law (Iowa Code 88), Asbestos Removal and Encapsulation Law (Iowa Code 88B), Child Labor Law (Iowa Code 92) and the Contractor Registration Law (Iowa Code 91C). Gail received her B.A. degree from the University of Iowa in 1983 and her J.D. degree from Drake University Law School in 1986. She is a member of the American, Iowa State, and Polk County Bar Associations, as well as a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, the Polk County Women Attorneys and the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys. Gail is also a member of the State OSHA Litigators Organization (SOLO), the International Labor Standards Association (ILSA), and the Blackstone Inn of Court.
