2015 Economic Survey of Legal Practice in Iowa
The economic survey, which is conducted every four-to-five years, monitors the financial health of the legal profession in Iowa and provides an understanding of the demographics of the membership to share with members and future attorneys. Conducted online by Readex Research in Stillwater, Minnesota, the 2015 survey asked active ISBA members practicing in Iowa about salaries for staff and new associates, overhead expenses, billable hours and other practice management subjects. New to the survey in 2015 were questions about student loan debt.

2013 Blue Ribbon Committee on Legal Education and Licensure Report
The Iowa State Bar Association’s Board of Governors unanimously approved the recommendations put forth by the Blue Ribbon Committee on Legal Education and Licensure in December 2013.

The recommendation moves away from the multi-state bar exam in use for the past five years and adopts the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) that is portable in 14 states.
