The Iowa State Bar Association works tirelessly with its members to develop legislative positions that improve the administration of justice in the State of Iowa. The association speaks with a unified voice to best represent the interests of the legal community. This is accomplished through close collaboration with the ISBA's committees, sections and bar leadership, constructing position papers on legislation and other policy issues, informing and educating legislators on the issues that most profoundly impact the legal community and monitoring all issues of concern to practitioners and their clients.

|LawPAC is the Political Action Committee of The Iowa State Bar Association. LawPAC members are appointed by the president of the ISBA. The committee is composed of an equal number of Republican and Democrat ISBA members who approve contributions to legislative candidates. Contributions are not given to any statewide race, nor are contributions made to federal congressional races. LawPAC contributes solely and exclusively to state legislative races. The top priority of LawPAC is to support lawyers who are willing to run for public office and to be involved in public service. In addition to lawyer candidates, LawPAC supports candidates who are supportive of the ISBA’s legislative priorities.
