A new video tour of the Iowa Judicial Branch Building is now available online for anyone interested in the history and use of the facility that houses the state's highest courts.
The tour is an 11-minute video, produced by JAC photoworks and narrated by retired KCCI anchor Kevin Cooney. It highlights the many architectural and decorative features within the building, while focusing on the public spaces including the rotunda, courtrooms and ceremonial areas.
The judicial branch building is open to the public to visit weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. When oral arguments for the supreme court and court of appeals are heard, the public is welcome to attend and watch. Group tours for more than 20 persons can be scheduled ahead of your arrival, or a self-guided tour sheet is available for individuals.
More information on visiting the Iowa Judicial Branch Building is available on the Supreme Court's website.
