ISBA tech support for Windows XP, Windows Vista to end

Technical support for the ISBA programs currently running on computers using Windows XP will end Jan. 1, 2017. Those currently running Windows Vista will have their support end on July 1, 2017.

The decision to end support for these two Windows operating systems was made because several software companies who provide software used internally to help support ISBA members with many different bar services have dropped their support of the programs running on these operating systems. Software programs that are no longer supported by the manufacturers run the increased risk of allowing malware attacks on computers running the unsupported operating systems. This makes the content on the owners’ computers more vulnerable to hacking by outside groups

Microsoft ended support for Windows XP on April 4, 2014. The company is scheduled to end extended support for Windows Vista on April 11, 2017. It had already dropped mainstream support for the operating system in April 2012.
