The Iowa Supreme Court is requesting comments regarding proposed amendments to the Iowa Court Rules governing appellate processes. The proposed court rule changes affect the court’s consideration of comments related to the assimilation of Iowa Rules of Electronic Filing, Division XII, into the Iowa Rules of Appellate Procedure. Public comments were requested in a supreme court order filed Aug. 29.

Proposed changes would impact the Iowa Rules of Appellate Procedure throughout chapter 6, amendments to Iowa Rules of Criminal Procedure 2.29 and 2.30 and rule 31.15 regarding practice permitted by law students and recent graduates.

The order includes a detailed overview of the proposed changes and can be found along with the proposed amendments at the Iowa Supreme Court’s website. The deadline for comments is Oct. 31.
