ISBA student membership provides these benefits:

Resources
The ISBA offers a variety of practice resources to student members including: Fastcase advanced legal research, Model Civil and Criminal Jury Instructions, Ethics Opinions any many more practice tools.

Publications
Get in touch with Iowa's legal community by reading the ISBA's monthly magazine, the
Iowa Lawyer, or our weekly e-newsletter, the Iowa Lawyer Weekly. These publications examine legal trends and issues through feature articles. Regular columns include commentary on professional ethics, an overview of the latest news from the Iowa legislature and reports on ISBA activities. Students are encouraged to submit articles for consideration.

Committees and Sections
The ISBA has
24 sections and more than 20 committees that focus on specific areas of the law. Getting involved in committee and section work as a student is an excellent way to get more involved in the ISBA. It can also assist you in determining the area of law in which you might ultimately want to practice. Committees and sections work to accomplish their goals and objectives by amending and drafting legislation and developing legal/public education and networking programs. Committee membership is free to all interested ISBA members. Student members can join one section free.

Networking
At ISBA and Young Lawyers Division (YLD)
activities, meet and network with lawyers who share your interests and concerns. Also, join the YLD at social hours to mingle with other young lawyers. There are many online networking options available as well. Take advantage of the online community on the ISBA website created for students and young lawyers alike or join the ISBA’s LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook page.
