every Bench Bar for decades and had a great experience each time. Bench-Bar is
a wonderful opportunity for lawyers and judges of every level of experience to
build relationships and learn from each other. The infectious enthusiasm
of the Dubuque Bar and strong program bodes well for another successful and fun
conference this year." |
- Justice Tom Waterman, Bench-Bar Conference Co-chair
|"Over the years,
the Bench-Bar Conference has engendered open discussions that prompt positive
action on emerging issues of interest to the bench and the bar. This
conference stands as a tremendous opportunity for any lawyer and any judge to
be part of the mix!"

"I’m excited to have
the Bench/Bar in eastern Iowa.
Dubuque is a great town with an active local bar
The Dubuque lawyers I’ve spoken to are anxious to
host this important gathering.

historic Julian Hotel is an excellent site for the
I’m confident with such
a great location and setting lawyers who may not have traveled in the past to
the bench/bar in Okoboji will take advantage of this conference in Dubuque.
Don’t be left out –
sign up for this outstanding event today.”
- Guy R. Cook, President, The Iowa State Bar Association
"I graduated from Drake Law
School in 2010 and was
admitted to the Iowa Bar that same year. I was fortunate enough to attend
the Iowa Bench-Bar Conference in 2012, and
found it to be a tremendous experience--especially for a "greenhorn” attorney
like me. It was a great opportunity to meet attorneys, judges, and
justices from throughout the state in an environment much less formal than that
of a courtroom. Throughout law school people told me that the legal
community in Iowa
was one of the most congenial and professional in the nation. The
experience at the Bench-Bar Conference certainly proved to me that those people
were correct. Not only is the Iowa
legal community congenial and professional, it is full of great attorneys,
judges, and justices who have a strong desire to mentor and to lead."
Samuel "Luke” Craven, Attorney, Whitfield & Eddy P.L.C.
