  • Debt collection cases up 58.8% from, 7,148 to 11,354 from 2002-2011
  • Mortgage foreclosures 10,176, up 84.8% from 2002-2011
  • Adult commitment petitions 10,437, up 45.2% from 2002-2011
  • Juvenile commitment petitions 1,516, up 94.1% from 2002-2011
  • Total civil tort filings 3,252, down 36.8% from 2002-2011
  • Civil jury trials 217, down from 338 in 2002 and down from 552 in 1993

**The current caseload is composed of cases that are highly emotional and explosive in nature, requiring tremendous resources from the Judicial Branch. Additionally, pro se litigation has exploded, which requires even more Judicial Branch resources.
